After eight years our Sc(Hi)accia DCA application is renewed.
To be increasingly attentive to information needs and offer correct information on eating disorders.
To discuss issues related to them.
To offer a broader vision of the possibilities and gray areas related to the people concerned and their families.
To tell the story of the life of the Center for the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders (CDCA) of the Casa di Cura Palazzolo in Bergamo.
The CDCA of Palazzolo in Bergamo does this in the light of a journey alongside girls and boys, young people, families and relatives of people with difficulties related to weight, food, body image and self-esteem.
So in 2016 our App - Sc(Hi)accia DCA - was born to offer notes and suggestions, traveling in the digital world which is full of discordant and prejudicial voices on Nutrition and Eating Disorders (DNA).
We have communicated with many, however, we have oriented many questions, we have welcomed requests for support in our CDCA.
We continue in a new way to be with people affected by nutrition-related pathologies. So to help family, friends and educators find a channel of connection; support people who are unable to be close to young people affected by eating disorders and create a contact who can give guidance.
We are still close, with care for the delicate situation and for privacy, to adolescents and young people, who are wondering what DNA is or what their situation is and finally how to find a Center for the treatment of eating disorders.
Everyone - family, friends, educators or interested people - will have a multimedia tool, through which they can send FAQ questions completely anonymously to a professional, and note their progress in a personal diary.
Finally, the app tries to provide information relating to eating disorder illnesses in a clear, scientifically correct and useful way to families and friends of children affected by these illnesses. In this sense, the tools will also assist in this way people not directly involved, who are uncertain about decisions and behaviors to adopt.
